Romanian criminal jailed in UK for allegedly raping a 42 year old woman

A Romanian serial criminal who served 20 years behind bars in his own country before being allowed into the UK has been jailed for 13 years in prison for allegedly raping a drunk lady.

Man who was indentified as [attacker] Cristian-Adrian Lascu, 43years of age, was allowed into Britain after his release from prison in Romania after serving 12 years for robbery, amongst others

But he targeted a woman in an alleyway in Cleethorpes, Lincs, and left her 'badly affected' by the attack.

The woman suffered 'severe psychological harm' and now panics when men walk up behind her, a court heard.

Lascu, of Grimsby, denied raping the woman on February 9 last year, but was convicted by a jury after a trial.

Prosecutor Richard Woolfall told Hull Crown Court how Lascu and another man followed the 42-year-old victim as she made her way home from a night out.

As she walked down an alleyway in Cleethorpes, she was grabbed and the accomplice 'pinned' her down.
