27 year old Man arrested for sexually assaulting a 101-year-old woman

A drug addict, who was identified has SAMUEL Cooper a 27 year old sexually assaulted a 101-year-old woman after breaking into her home.

Samuel Cooper, broke into the woman's home to look for cash to buy drugs after a night of drinking.

Him attacking the old pensioner in her bed and the victim said the ordeal has 'altered' her life completely.

She suffered cuts to her body and 'exacerbated the arthritis' in both of her knees.

Southampton Crown Court heard how Cooper 'upended' the victim's body 'in order to make it easier' to attack her, and he did so by moving her legs before touching her.

He then tried to 'cover his tracks' using antibacterial cleaner Dettol.

The pensioner, who cannot be named for legal reasons, provided an interview via video link to the court while she was recovering from the incident.

She said: 'He's altered my life entirely. It's turned my life upside down.'

Cooper, who continues to deny that he committed the sex attack, was convicted of sexual assault following a trial and was sentenced to eight years in jail.

He admitted burglary at an earlier hearing and was sentenced to six years imprisonment to run concurrently.

However Cooper, of Hythe, Hampshire, was also cleared of trespassing with intent to commit a sexual offence, attempted rape, and attempted assault by penetration.
