Imo Residents Appeal To State Govt. To Fix Bad Roads

road-deltaResidents of Ihiagwa- Nekede community in Owerri West Local Government area of Imo state have appealed to the state government to come to their aid in fixing and rehabilitating the dilapidated Ihiagwa- Futo road, that has been left to rot for a very long time. They stated that the road is in a bad state and has caused untold hardship on the people, as most economic and social activities in the area have been grounded to a halt following the state of the road.
They have called on the state government and appropriate authorities to rescue them and fix the road.
The state hosts the Federal University of Technology, FUTO and the Federal Polytechnic Nekede.
The location of these federal schools in the area has brought a lot of development to the area and also increased the population of both communities.
Meanwhile, the State Government, through the Chief of Staff to the Imo State Government, Uche Nwosu has assured them that work will start on the road as soon as the rain subsides around August.
The government says even though work started at the end of Futo road years back, they will ensure the completion is in due course.
They pleaded with the community to be patient with the government.
